My Thirtieth Year: 2

I've been enjoying one of my Christmas presents: the album Ceremonials by Florence and the Machine. One of my favorite songs so far is Shake It Out.

There's something about this line, especially:
And I am done with my graceless heart
So tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart
Cause I like to keep my issues strong
It's always darkest before the dawn.


It's hard to dance
With the devil on your back
So shake it off/shake it off.


Even more powerful, I get goosebumps when she sings:
And I'm ready to suffer
and I'm ready to hope.


There's something really true about that line... that hope brings pain.
