The Curious Incident of the Dog at the Night-Time

A friend passed this book along to me last summer and I recently picked it up in a few moments of "spare" time. The story revolves around Christopher Boone, a young autistic man, who discovers his neighbors murdered dog and decides to uncover the truth behind it and write a book about the endeavor, the latter act being the far more inflamatory act.

If you are easily offended by foul language, you might be cautious about picking up this book (it is set in England, where some words are more common and accepted than they are here) but it is a good insight into the autistic mind. I have worked with several children who had Autism and could see bits and pieces of them in the character of Christopher - the author, Mark Haddon, also worked with autistic persons and has created a loveable and sympathetic family for us to understand the trials and frustrations that come with not being "normal". And, it's simply an intriguing mystery.
